Just as the wrong colour choice can destroy the appeal of an otherwise spectacular dress, strategic colour choice can elevate simpler garments to a much higher level. Regardless of whether you choose to work with a single colour or a much more adventurous palette, an understanding of the basic principles of colour selection and use is vital. Contrary to popular belief, professional dress designers do not simply select colours at random, in accordance with what looks good on the day. Instead, colour selection is given just as much time and attention as every other element in the overall design process.
