Course General Description

Interior and Textile Design is a unique subject in Finland, as you can take it only at our university. In our studies art and science meet in the context of interior and textile design. Some of the most important elements of interior design are textiles, which can serve as domestic textiles, art and acoustical surfaces in public places and be an innovative part of the built environment. Your studies in the programme enable you to examine interior design from the perspective of multi-sensory spatial experiences.

School General Description

Located in the city of Rovaniemi, on the Arctic Circle, the University of Lapland is an international, multidisciplinary university whose areas of expertise include Arctic affairs and tourism research. Originally established in 1979 to provide higher education opportunities for those living in the far reaches of northern Finland, the university has now become an important educational institution for the entire country. The University of Lapland has turned out every fourth lawyer, every third university-educated expert in art and design, close to ten percent of the social scientists, and many talented educational professionals here in Finland.
