I am an Artist in the Bay Area. I have been painting for over 20 years now. My history as an Artist started at a young age, to being inspired by Arts & Crafts classes in high school, and then expanding my knowledge and skill level by majoring in Art at Portland State University and then transferring to the Academy of Art University in San Francisco. I enjoy painting in all different types of mediums such as: Acrylic, Oil, and Watercolor to name a few.

Ever since I was introduced to my first set of crayons I fell in love with color. Art is a wonderful avenue for me to utilize color in the most imaginative and creative ways. I get a lot of satisfaction from creating things with my own hands.

Before I begin to paint I grab my sketch pad or journal whichever is closest and start brainstorming. My inspiration usually comes from natural surroundings. Nature is so bountiful and beautiful I tend to use it a lot in my Art. There are many other things I see and hear that invoke in me a creative emotional response like: various types of music, movies, books, magazines, etc… Art is the outlet I use to express those responses.

Everything has some sort of form, shape, line, color, value, space, and texture. Those key elements give me the option to create a variety of styles. Contemporary Abstract Expressionism is a style I am very fond of because it allows me the most freedom to express emotion. It also gives me an opportunity to experiment with different tools and techniques.

Painting, Drawing, Photography, Arts & Crafts, and Scrapbooking are some of my favorite types of Art. However, I do find all aspects of Art intriguing. Whatever I do in life Art will always have a place in it.
