Course General Description

The programme aims at imparting education to the next generation of planners on urban planning principles and techniques and developing cognitive skills required for understanding the urban complexities and respond to them through spatially balanced and socially justified measures. With majority of the population living in the urban areas by 2050, it is imperative that we focus as to how our cities and town are developing. India’s deficits in urban planners compared to other similar fields and India’s cities and town are developing at a fast pace is an opportunity and challenge to provide the experts to be a part of this expansion. In view of this our intent is to educate planners recognized for their professional excellence, practical insight, and ethical practice. The Masters in Urban Planning programme will bridge this gap of deficit in urban planners and contribute in placing its graduates across the country to fulfill the vision of our great leaders to be the leading country.
