Armavir State Pedagogical University is one of the oldest educational institutions in the South of Russia that provides professional pedagogical education. Professional pedagogical education began in 1923, when the Armavir Pedagogical College was established by the decision of the People's Commissariat of Education . In 1932, an Assyrian department was opened in the pedagogical technical school, the first graduation of which took place in 1936.
