Course General Description

The Fashion Design program equips students with artistic and technical skills that enable them to combat the challenges and cultivate their own innovative vision in the field of fashion. The students are exposed to conscious and hands-on experience aiding them to enhance their fashion, creative and methodological skills. Diversified courses such as draping, machine sewing, pattern making and illustration facilitate students to turn their idea into quality garments. At AIFD students not only cultivate themselves as designers but they transform themselves into creative professionals competing with heads held high in the dynamic fashion industry.

Realizing the importance of professional skills and expertise in the export industry the government of Pakistan encouraged professional training institutes to be set up all over the country. Aiming to provide professional education, competitive (at par) with international quality standards, Iqra University was established in 1998 in Karachi. Today its distinctive campuses are successfully operating in all provincial as well as the federal capital of Pakistan. Management of Iqra University realized that the substantial growth of the fashion industry in Pakistan calls for unique fashion expertise. Hence in January 2000, Iqra University, Karachi, proudly enlarged the spectrum of study disciplines offered by founding Asian Institute of Fashion Design - an exclusively unique training centre of professional excellence and technical competence.
