Course General Description

The Bachelor of Fine Arts degree is offered for the student eventually seeking a Master of Fine Arts degree, the position of a professional artist or designer, and for teaching studio art within a selected specialization. The B.F.A. degree program is demanding, requiring high quality performance in order to develop the professional competence of talented students toward successful entrance into the professional art field. To remain a B.F.A. candidate, a successful student must maintain a specified minimum GPA in their discipline. See Program Options for specific GPA requirements. Students who fall below a GPA of 3.0 in upper division courses in their area for two consecutive semesters will be removed from this B.F.A .
