Course General Description

In CCAD's Film & Video program, you’ll learn skills at every step of the filmmaking process, as you sharpen your creative eye behind the lens. From pre-production through post-production and distribution, you'll cover a thorough exploration of the field, including cinematography, directing, editing, production design, screenwriting, storyboarding and production management. Here, our collaborative, project-based approach seamlessly integrates real-world assignments, industry standards, professional practices and challenging coursework. Whether you want to make films, motion graphics, fine art installations, commercials, documentaries or music videos, you can make them all at Columbus College of Art & Design, one of America's oldest private art and design colleges for film students.

CCAD teaches undergraduate and graduate students in the midst of a thriving artistic community in Columbus, Ohio. Founded in 1879, CCAD is one of the oldest private, nonprofit art and design colleges in the United States and, in 2019, the college is celebrating 140 years of creative excellence. CCAD offers 12 BFA programs and two master’s programs in art and design that produce graduates equipped to shape culture and business at the highest level. CCAD fosters a community that educates diverse students so they can unleash their creative power to shape culture and commerce.
