Course General Description

In the collaborative and diverse culture of Columbus College of Art & Design's Illustration degree program, you’ll be exposed to experienced faculty, study the history of the field and experience the full spectrum of illustration today, whether it’s on paper, canvas or the digital screen. The course's team cultivates a passion for bringing ideas, characters and personalities to life. Through the comprehensive illustration courses, you'll learn the technical, conceptual and entrepreneurial skills you'll need to succeed in fields such as editorial illustration, advertising, graphic novels, children’s books, concept art and toy design.

CCAD teaches undergraduate and graduate students in the midst of a thriving artistic community in Columbus, Ohio. Founded in 1879, CCAD is one of the oldest private, nonprofit art and design colleges in the United States and, in 2019, the college is celebrating 140 years of creative excellence. CCAD offers 12 BFA programs and two master’s programs in art and design that produce graduates equipped to shape culture and business at the highest level. CCAD fosters a community that educates diverse students so they can unleash their creative power to shape culture and commerce.
