Course General Description
A Design & Merchandising (D&M) degree from the Westphal College of Media Arts & Design combines creativity and business across the fashion and lifestyle industries. From product development to buying and marketing, students in the D&M program are exposed to a variety of career paths in textiles, manufacturing, retail, media and public relations through our innovative co-op program, industry projects integrated into various courses, and our esteemed faculty who have years of experience in the industry. Through the Design & Merchandising program, students will develop an appreciation for fashion, style and product quality, learn to communicate verbally and visually through traditional and emerging media, and gain the business knowledge and skills to promote goods and services in the global marketplace. Students will have the opportunity to stage the Drexel Fashion Show, produce the award-winning D&M lifestyle magazine, and develop retail strategies in our retail lab. Students can complete their Bachelor of Science in Design & Merchandising degree in four years, with a six month co-op during their junior year.Disciplines
