Course General Description

This comprehensive 2-year course provides students with an internationally recognised qualification in fashion design, while developing their confidence and their unique design identity. The course delivers a strong understanding of the role of a fashion designer in industry, and aims to ensure that graduates are ready for a range of fashion design positions. There is an emphasis on creativity and on development of original and inspired fashion design work, as well as in developing well-honed technical skills and industry knowledge. Throughout the course, students build their confidence in bringing unique fashion design work all the way from concept to catwalk. The course culminates with students showcasing their final collection of original fashion design work at the End-of-Year Fashion Show.

School General Description

The Institute was founded in 1992 and is based in Dublin City Centre with easy access from all parts of Dublin. Dublin Institute of Design is an accredited QQI provider, an approved BTEC centre and an approved City & Guilds centre. The Institute offers a wide range of full time and part time courses ranging from 6 week introductory courses to 3 year degree programmes.
