Personal Creative imagination, artistic, and practical skills or ability are needed. Patience, accuracy and attention to detail are important requirements. A good all-round educational background is an advantage.Academic: The Senior Certificate or an equivalent qualification is required. In addition, prospective Jewellery Design students are selected on the merits of a portfolio, the results of an interview as well as practical and profile tests.

The Durban University of Technology (DUT) is a leading University in KwaZulu Natal, South Africa. It was formed in 2002 following the merger of Technikon Natal and ML Sultan Technikon and it was initially known as the Durban Institute of Technology.
