School General Description

It began as the department of architecture, created in 1947 by the architect KT Babykin at the Faculty of Civil Engineering of the Ural Industrial Institute . In 1967 the department was reorganized into the Ural branch of the Moscow Architectural Institute . In 1972 the branch was transformed into the Sverdlovsk Architectural Institute. Since 1967, N. S. Alferov was the rector of the branch and the institute . In 1992, the institute was renamed the Ural Institute of Architecture and Art, and in 1996 it received the status of an academy
