Course General Description

Students learn to design a harmonious, comfortable and safe environment by completing academic, competitive and experimental projects: individual and multi-storey dwellings, public buildings, urban planning complexes, interiors, small architectural forms, etc. The methodology for preparing an architect is aimed at identifying a creative individuality, developing innovative initiatives and a sense of social responsibility, which contributes to the formation of modern-minded professionals who are ready to act as leaders in the design process.

Like other universities in the Russian Far East, FESTU traces its history back to the Oriental Institute , in the former building of which its main building is located. In the 2nd half of the 19th century. The Far East and, above all, its southern regions found themselves in the center of active international military-political processes and active population. The abolition of serfdom ( 1861 ) and the final consolidation of the southern borders (the Beijing Treaty of 1860 ), as well as the establishment by Russian sailors of military posts on the Pacific coast ( Nikolaevsk , Vladivostok , etc.) predetermined the era of mass resettlement of peasants to the East. March 26, 1861 by the decision of the Russian government of the Amur and Primorsky regionswere declared open for settlement by peasants and enterprising people of all classes. The colonization of these vast territories was determined both by national economic and economic interests and by the emerging need for military-political protection of the territories being developed.
