Course General Description
The course explores the creative process of Interior Design, from materials and furnishings through retail and event design to architectural alteration and technology. The course is delivered jointly by the Schools of Textiles and Design and Energy, Geoscience, Infrastructure and Society and provides a core set of design skills required by the industry, supported by contextual studies, technology and material expertise. Students tackle projects and tasks that enable them to articulate their own niche in Interior Design.Tuition Fees

Requirements
HND A in graded unit. Direct entry into Year 3 is possible with a completed HND in a relevant design field, or with a completed course of studies equivalent to a HND (e.g. an Advanced Diploma, BTEC, or similar).All applicants will also need to submit a design portfolio to demonstrate an interest in Interior Design prior to being interviewed.

School General Description
Heriot-Watt University is the eighth oldest higher education institution in the UK. The university has five campuses located in Edinburgh, the Scottish Borders, Dubai, Malaysia and Orkney. The Dubai campus was the first university campus from a UK university to be set up in Dubai International Academic City and has since expanded to take double the number of students. Students are offered inter-campus transfers if they wish to study abroad for a period of time as well as transfers through the Erasmus programme. The university is divided into six schools including: energy, geoscience, infrastructure and society; engineering and physical sciences; social sciences; mathematical and computer sciences and textiles and design. Over 50 student societies exist at the university and a number of events are organised by the Students Association including an annual charity beer festival.
