Course General Description

The Department of Graphics began its history in the first half of the twentieth century. The foundation of the department of graphics is connected with the opening of a graphic workshop in the Kharkiv Art College in 1921, that existed on the rights of a higher educational institution, and where well-known Ukrainian artists V. Ermilov, I. Padalka and A. Marenkov successfully taught. In the formation and development of the Kharkiv graphic school, talented artists and famous teachers of the graphics department left their mark: I. Daits, B. Blank, V. Mironenko, G. Bondarenko, M. Fradkin, V. Seleznev, I. Stakhanov, V. Nenado, V. Vikhtinsky, A. Blyakher, I. Yakhin, V. Shevchenko, A. Suprun, A. Yurchenko and others. Now it is associated with deep classical traditions and experience accumulated by world art for the millennium, as well as with active search for new ways of improving the methodology of educating specialists in book and easel graphics, the author's poster. The Department of Graphics integrates teaching, practice and individualized approach to personality in a curriculum that goes beyond the core subjects. The department carries out preparation of the two-level system: bachelor, master's degree.

School General Description

KSADA is the only higher educational establishment which prepares designers of manufactured goods, specialists in such spheres as graphic design, interior design, design of decorative textiles and clothes, commercial and industrial advertising, corporate look, and packaging. Our graduates successfully work at factories and in agencies in diverse fields of industry, in design organisations, business and industrial companies and associations, cultural and art organisations, higher schools, and colleges. The Academy is also designated as a centre of the art culture. It prepares highly qualified specialists who work in various spheres of artistry, namely easel painting, easel graphic works, book graphic design, poster, monumental-and-decorative painting and stained-glass window, architectural-and-decorative plastic arts and sculpture, and restoration of works of arts.
