Course General Description
This programme enables you to teach Art and Design at second level. It begins from the place of creative making in the studio setting where students are introduced to a variety of creative disciplines including; Fashion Design, Painting, Ceramics, Graphic Design, Sculpture, Animation & Motion Design, Printmaking and Contemporary Practice. Concurrent to this you will study educational theory and practice which will equip you with the teaching aptitudes and skills to enter into the profession of teaching Art and Design. A Portfolio is also required. Applicants will be accepted to Year 1 of the programme based on a combination of Leaving Certificate/QQI FET/FETAC results and Portfolio Assessment. The Portfolio will be scored out of 600 with a minimum score of 240 required to pass.Tuition Fees
