Course General Description

NHIA’s Printmaking major offers you a unique opportunity to work in both contemporary and historical methods simultaneously. From screen prints designed on your laptop to 15th century etching and lithography techniques, you’ll develop an arsenal of tools through which you can express yourself. Create a zine in the letterpress studio, carve a large format woodblock for printing, explore series and variation through monotype and partner with other students in the other department on community projects, or try your hand at working with clients through Millennial Press. Throughout your studies, our faculty of working print artists will shape your artistic practice long after graduation.
