Course General Description
A graphic design degree is perfect for students who eat, breathe, and sleep design, and would like to apply their talents in a hands-on way. In the graphic design major, you’ll learn how to use design principles, methods, concepts, images, words, and ideas to convey distinct messages to specific audiences. You’ll walk away knowing that designing is not just about how something looks, but rather the experience you create. Graphic designers are visual problem-solvers who use a wide variety of concepts and media to inform, direct, promote, entertain, engage, and educate specific audiences. RIT Grant - Award amount is determined annually based on information provided on the FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid). RIT RCSD(Rochester City School District) Initiative - Awarded to qualified freshman who are graduates of the Rochester City School District who have both lived in the city and attended an approved high school within the RCSD for the last three years of high school. RIT Say Yes To Education Scholarship Program - In partnership with Say YES to Education, awarded to qualified participants in the Say Yes to Education program. Recipients receive award equal to full tuition through a combination of RIT scholarships and state and federal need-based grants Federal Pell Grant - Based on financial need for students who have not yet attained a bachelor’s degree. Federal Supplemental Opportunity Grant (SEOG) – For students who have not yet attained a bachelor’s degree that demonstrate exceptional financial need. Tuition Assistant Program (TAP) – For full-time students who are New York state residents and meet state income guidelines.
