School General Description
Savannah College of Art and Design (SCAD) is a private, 4-year college dedicated to preparing students for professional careers in areas such as interior design, graphic art, architecture and video graphics. The main campus in Savannah, Georgia, encompasses 70 buildings in an around the downtown historic district. The school has additional campuses in Atlanta, Hong Kong and Lacoste, France. Although SCAD has only been open since 1979, it has built a reputation as one of the best design schools in the world, according to Bloomberg Businessweek in 2009. In 2013, Design Intelligence ranked several of SCAD's programs in the top 20 in the nation, including undergraduate and graduate interior design and industrial design programs and the graduate architecture program.
