Course General Description

Industrial designers shape our world, from games and gadgets, to bicycles and boats, to highchairs and helmets. As a student at SCAD, you'll get hands-on experience bringing your ideas to reality, carrying on our great tradition of developing world-class designers. In recent years, our students have worked with some of the most recognizable brands in the world — including Coca-Cola, Hewlett-Packard, AT&T, Dell, Mattel, Microsoft, Reebok and Fisher-Price — to invent practical solutions to real challenges. School General Description

Savannah College of Art and Design (SCAD) is a private, 4-year college dedicated to preparing students for professional careers in areas such as interior design, graphic art, architecture and video graphics. The main campus in Savannah, Georgia, encompasses 70 buildings in an around the downtown historic district. The school has additional campuses in Atlanta, Hong Kong and Lacoste, France. Although SCAD has only been open since 1979, it has built a reputation as one of the best design schools in the world, according to Bloomberg Businessweek in 2009. In 2013, Design Intelligence ranked several of SCAD's programs in the top 20 in the nation, including undergraduate and graduate interior design and industrial design programs and the graduate architecture program. SCAD prepares talented students for creative professions through engaged teaching and learning in a positively oriented university environment.
