Course General Description

The Master’s Degree in Product Design aims at the strengthening of knowledge and development of skills in the field of the integrated product design processes and their interfaces. In the process of development, Product Design comprises different aspects such as form, function, production, costs, sales, sustainability, durability, reuse and experience in use. It also includes mechanisms for business feasibility in all its stages of development. It is the designer’s role and social duty to think carefully and responsibly about the user’s needs and, in a broader sense, on those of the society, by taking its inherent features into account.

School General Description

In 1989, a group of teachers created a school with a new vision of design which aimed to respond to the teaching gaps in this field and the needs of a changing industry. Today, with around five thousand students who have graduated, ESAD is a reference in design and the arts, in Portugal and worldwide.
