Course General Description
Established in April 1910, the School of Architecture at Seoul National University of Science and Technology is the first educational institution for architectural training in Korea. SeoulTech introduced the 5 year Bachelor of Architecture Program in professional architectural education in 2002, again the first of its kind in Korea. We redesigned a curriculum that introduced practical studio experiences, including partnerships with industry and global initiatives. We combined pragmatic tradition of quality and frontier spirit that are directly responsive to the changing needs of society. In recent years, our school has become an even better place to pursue an architectural education. A new home for the Department of Architecture is being built and we will move into the new facilities in January 2014. For over a century, the School of Architecture at SeoulTech has been a frontier in architectural education, and we are continually committed to producing future leaders of architectural and urban professions. Essential to our inter-professional philosophy is the cooperative, team-oriented learning environment that we foster. SNUST Architecture itself is small and intimate; students have immediate and easy access to professors, administrators know students by name, and the friendly atmosphere extends from faculty to staff to students. Collegiality, rather than competition, is the defining characteristic of our community. I’m proud to be department chair of such an outstanding program, whose core commitments to interdisciplinary, experiential learning, integration with the professional community, diversity, and community define our past, shape our present, and guide our future.Tuition Fees

School General Description
Set up at the same time as the establishment of the Republic of Korea in 1910, the South Korean capital’s third largest university has been reorganised several times as Gyeongseong Public Industrial School, then Gyeonggi Technical College, and then Gyeonggi Open Industrial University, before being renamed the Seoul National University of Science and Technology (SeoulTech) in 2010, to celebrate its centenary year. Specialising in technology, engineering and design, it has remained a leading light in these fields since it was conceived, and also boasts stellar business and education programs, as well as a globally distinguished ceramics program. Alongside Seoul National University, it is the only four-year national general university in the Seoul metropolitan area. The urban campus, located in the North East Tereung area of Seoul, is about 40 minutes by subway from central Seoul and comprises six colleges; engineering, information communications, bioenergy, design, humanities and social sciences and management technology. There are also seven graduate teaching institutions. Facilities include a state-of-the-art library (housing over 600,000 volumes), a press and broadcasting centre and an Institute for Language Education and Research, operated by 20 native-speaking English teachers.School Contacts
