Course General Description

In the past 60 years, the institution's arts and crafts education has gathered industry and social forces to integrate and optimise the allocation of resources, actively promote the combination of traditional arts and crafts of Shanghai urban life. The course promotes the combination of traditional arts and crafts with modern design, fashion elements, science and technology.

School General Description

Shanghai Art & Design Academy is the only independently established vocational college of art and design in Shanghai. The academy comprises Shanghai Arts & Crafts School (founded in 1960) and the original Shanghai Second Light Industry Vocational College (founded in 1980). After more than 50 years of development and accumulation of experience, SADA has gained strength of running a comprehensive school. In 2013, the academy was awarded the title of National Advanced Unit in Vocational Education. In 2016, the college successfully passed the education plan (post-demonstration construction). In 2017 SADA was among the top 50 universities in China with an international potential in the world.
