Course General Description
The Smart City is an approach that is being intensively discussed worldwide - in Rio de Janeiro as well as in Mumbai, in Copenhagen and Bangkok. The goal of the master's degree course Smart City Solutions is to train the specialists of the individual departments as generalists who have a broad view of the diverse tasks and challenges of a modern city. To this end, graduates work in an interdisciplinary way and have knowledge and ability in all important areas in order to assure coordination and cross-functional functions. Graduates have excellent career prospects in a wide variety of areas. The process of forming suitable teams of consultants for the task at hand, which is completely new in this form, is in full swing worldwide. Smart City has definitely become an important field of activity for various actors who need specific competences and capacities: e. g. local authorities, IT companies, international business and engineering offices, service providers etc. Graduates have excellent career opportunities, both nationally and internationally. School General Description
Tradition and Innovation – key characteristics of the HFT Stuttgart. Founded in 1832 as the „Winter School for Building Craftsmen“, today the HFT Stuttgart offers a broad spectrum of accredited Bachelor and Master’s Programmes. Our three faculties offer a total of 14 Bachelor and 18 Master’s Programmes. Our campus is located directly in the centre of Stuttgart, the business centre of South-West Germany. At the HFT Stuttgart we specialise in teaching practical skills in small groups. 4000 students are taught by about 125 professors, who are supported by over 350 part-time lecturers. Not only technical knowledge is taught, but also interpersonal skills such as team building and the ability to work on interdisciplinary projects. Integrated into your degree programme, you may also find practical study projects in firms and offices or possibly a study semester at one of our 70 partner institutions around the world.
