Course General Description

Considering the dynamic development of culture, fashion design can be viewed as a type of communication. Being a new branch of arts, it is a synthetic art in contrast to painting and sculpture. Fashion design focuses on visual and technical aspects of clothing style. Fashion Design is one of the most important directions of the Faculty of Design aiming to prepare highly qualified professionals in the areas of creative textile and fabric, costume, leather, and footwear and accessories design. The graduates of the Direction are expected to have sufficient competences and skills to create single-line as well as mixed collections by applying different technologies.

School General Description

The mission of the TSAA is to contribute to the spread of universal values and promote artistic/creative and research activities in the fields of fine arts, design, media arts, architecture, restoration/conservation and art history and theory. The TSAA is guided by values that are based on the principles of academic freedom and envisage the preservation and development of national cultural traditions with a view to promoting public welfare and finding a respectful place on the international scene. Currently, five faculties operate at the academy, those of Visual Art; Architecture; Restoration, Art History and Theory; Design; Media Art. The Academy aims to contribute to the development of students' identity and interests and support research-based practices by drawing on traditional as well as modern research.
