Course General Description

The Direction of Painting has been a central unit of the Faculty of Fine Arts since its establishment. The complex methodology employed by the Direction of Painting envisages teaching of classical painting principles along with the developing the students’ ability to understand, analyse and use for creative purposes contemporary subject-specific information. The Painting Direction offers optional courses to all the faculties and directions of the Academy. Its academic programmes are designed in accordance with the specific requirements of each faculty and department.

School General Description

The mission of the TSAA is to contribute to the spread of universal values and promote artistic/creative and research activities in the fields of fine arts, design, media arts, architecture, restoration/conservation and art history and theory. The TSAA is guided by values that are based on the principles of academic freedom and envisage the preservation and development of national cultural traditions with a view to promoting public welfare and finding a respectful place on the international scene. Currently, five faculties operate at the academy, those of Visual Art; Architecture; Restoration, Art History and Theory; Design; Media Art. The Academy aims to contribute to the development of students' identity and interests and support research-based practices by drawing on traditional as well as modern research.
