Course General Description

Acoustical Design Workshop tries to develop complementary skills that will help in designing complex projects in which the acoustics plays an important and specific role. Theoretical sessions will support the practical sessions in the workshop. Acoustical design requirements obtained through the analysis of typological evolution on the design of room acoustics and the evaluation of acoustical quality in different types of auditorium will be the starting point. The workshop will be complemented by theoretical sessions focused on specific aspects of projects such as sound absorption, geometrical design techniques, acoustical conditioning, scenarios design and stage equipment, sound insulation, acoustical modelling, sound measurements Teaching will be organised in a workshop, where teachers will follow-up the evolution of the project developed by each student.
