Course General Description

The Cert HE in Production and Technical Arts for the Stage offers a unique opportunity to develop both practical and industry standard skills alongside the exploration of current best practice, business, networking, and entrepreneurship. You will have numerous opportunities to work with real industry briefs such as stage-managing Christmas shows at the ARC, writing case studies alongside real performers, crewing and lighting operation or sound operation for full performances open to the public. You will become an integral part of university and college life on the Stockton Riverside College Campus and will be invaluable to the back stage work that is carried out. You also create your own professional work. The course offers a diverse and contemporary study experience which is fast paced and current. You will gain skills as technicians and stage managers but also organisers and developers. You receive energetic, focussed learning relevant to an ever changing industry, and support and guidance from a range of tutors and industry professionals in both practical and personal scenarios.
