Course General Description
We are in the UK top 20 for film production and photography and 9th for teaching satisfaction according to the Guardian University Guide 2020. We are also rated at 96% for overall student satisfaction (NSS 2019). Created in conjunction with industry leaders, this course is taught by practising professionals who have worked on animation projects for companies such as the BBC, Channel 4, ITV, Dreamworks, Aardman Animation and Sony Computer Entertainment. Working in our industry spec animation studios, you'll be trained to use the latest industry standard animation equipment, including Adobe After Effects, Adobe Animate and Adobe Photoshop, Autodesk Maya, TVPaint, Toon Boom Harmony and Wacom Cintiqs. You'll have the freedom to develop your own style and career path, learning the skills you need to flourish in this rapidly-changing industry, from award-winning animators. Whether you have an interest in feature films, television, games, apps, advertising or music videos, this course will prepare you thoroughly and give you plenty of opportunities for practical experience and review. You'll have the opportunity to visit Annecy International Animated Film Festival in France each year, the most prestigious animation festival in the world attended by the world’s biggest animation companies such as Disney, Dreamworks, Illumination, ILM, and Sony. There are additional opportunities to visit animation studios and festivals in Bristol, Manchester, Cardiff and London, allowing you to network and showcase your work with animation professionals. You'll also be able to work on live projects and industry led work experience placements. Previous partners have included, BBC, A Productions, Aardman, Rumpus, Reflective Films and The Annecy Animation Festival. All final year animation students will attend 2 full day workshops in the Aardman Animation studios in Bristol. Arranged by the Aardman Academy, and taught by Aardman’s world class in house talent.Tuition Fees

The University of Gloucestershire is a public university based in Gloucestershire, England. It is located over three campuses, two in Cheltenham and one in Gloucester, namely Francis Close Hall, The Park, Oxstalls and The Centre for Art and Photography being near to Francis Close Hall.
