Course General Description

MA Animation is designed to enable you to refine your animation skills, to develop a longer form animated film, serial or series, and prepare to “take it to market”. You will learn to write story and script and will work with actors to bring vocal life to your creations. You will make practical materials and animated footage, learn the art of self-promotion and gain the relevant skills to build an electronic press kit and series bible. You will learn the art of the pitch, and deliver it in front of panels and industry professionals. You will also become skilled in the contextualization of your own work, and be able to apply a range of cultural critique to it. All of your efforts culminate in the final major project: 'Greenlight: Pitch Ready', where you will prepare your final animated series or long form film sequences to pitch to industry.
