Course General Description
In recent years, a new type of media professional has emerged. Multi-skilled and familiar with a range of media platforms, they drive emergent creative industries in new and exciting directions. The Digital Media course provides students who are keen to work in cutting-edge media industries with opportunities to develop a unique set of skills and experiences. You will cover a range of subjects including interactive design, contemporary moving image, web technologies, graphics and animation right from your first year. You will also have opportunities to develop in progressive and emergent fields such as app development and Virtual Reality, with tools including Insta360, GoPro VR, Oculus and HTC Vive. Our ground-breaking curriculum is built on a platform of employability, and you will be working on projects and pitching to major international clients such as HyperX and Historic England within your first semester! This continues at all levels, giving you opportunities for essential real-world skills and industry contacts. Graduates from the course work at many high-profile media organisations such as the BBC and Jungle Creations, while strong links with industry mean that you will be able to meet and learn from respected practitioners. Guests at the annual media school festival have included YouTube entrepreneurs Yogscast, graduate and founder of Entirety Labs Ross Silcocks, and Nataly Rios from Transmedia pioneers Conducttr. You can also take part in field trips, such as the annual ‘Music & Media’ trip to a different European city for cross-platform content production, as well as events such as Transmediale in Berlin, Ars Electronica in Linz, and our annual free visit to the London Design Festival.Tuition Fees

The University of Gloucestershire is a public university based in Gloucestershire, England. It is located over three campuses, two in Cheltenham and one in Gloucester, namely Francis Close Hall, The Park, Oxstalls and The Centre for Art and Photography being near to Francis Close Hall. The university provides almost 100 undergraduate courses and around 57 taught post-graduate courses within eight schools. Every year our students complete over 4,000 placements and internships in the UK and abroad.
