Course General Description
We're ranked 3rd in the UK for student satisfaction (landscape design and town and country planning) according to the Complete University Guide 2020. You will work on real sites, on real scenarios, investigating real issues. You'll work on live local sites with client-driven briefs in landscape studios to develop your design creativity and hone your professional practice skills. Students have worked on a range of sites in Cheltenham such as Pittville Park, Gloucester such as Kings Square, and Bristol such as The Diesel Depot and Temple Meads. With a number of industry partners linked to the course, you will benefit from sponsored events, visits to landscape practices and lectures delivered directly by current practitioners. Partners have included LDA Design, Arup, Grant Associates, Barton Wilmore, Atkins Global, Grontmij, BDP, Sustrans and Merrick Denton-Thompson, current president of the Landscape Institute. In your final year, you'll showcase your work at the Degree Show - an event attended by landscape practitioners where previous students have been head-hunted by leading landscape design practices. Develop design creativity through national and international study trips where you’ll explore examples of historic, contemporary and cultural landscapes. Previous trips include Copenhagen, New York and Barcelona. You'll be inspired in your first year with a three-day trip to London to discover a wealth of design ideas from small and medium scale urban regeneration projects through to city parks and large scale green infrastructure projects. This course was also rated 90% for teaching, over 91% for learning opportunities and resources in the National Student Survey 2019.Tuition Fees
