Course General Description

The PhD in Urbanism was created in Portugal within the Lisbon School of Architecture of the University of Lisbon, with the first defended thesis in 1990. The current doctoral study results from the adaptation of the old study to the Bologna process, and continues to be the only PhD in Urbanism offered by public universities in Portugal. The study is organized in diverse lines of research and according to four main themes: Morphology and urban project; Urban and territorial planning; Environment and landscape; Urban policies
