Course General Description

MA Design for Social Innovation and Sustainable Futures course will explore design in terms of its human-centred and strategic approach, its collaborative potential and as a leading force for driving meaningful and contextually relevant societal and ecological transformation. Design is realised via the disciplines of communication, strategy, interaction and innovation; placing systems-thinking at its core. You will be invited to explore and question these disciplines in relation to the global systems they inhabit, looking at the environment, materiality, empathy, ethics and responsibility as they are set within broad and dynamic socio-cultural, economic and political contexts.

School General Description

Central Saint Martins is a world-famous arts and design college and part of the University of the Arts London (UAL). The main campus is located in the award-winning Granary Building at the centre of London’s King’s Cross. The College’s alumni include notable artists and designers who have challenged and shaped the world around us (not to mention Turner Prize laureates and Academy Award winners, as well as a glut of Royal Designers for Industry and Royal Academicians).
