Course General Description
The BA educational study programme of Glass provides university education and knowledge necessary for professional practice of glass artists. The programme comprises tasks related to artistic glass plastics, function (objects of practical purpose), architecture and space, interartistic and interdisciplinary subjects as well as humanitarian university disciplines. Studying in VAA KF BA study programme of Glass, students learn main technologies of artistic glass: hot glass, sculptural plastics of glass, firing, cold glass processing, classical and modern stained glass. Glass artists-to-be develop skills of interartistic subjects, art history and theory, philosophy, art management and other university disciplines. This programme provides knowledge and skills necessary for professional practice of glass artists, encourages self-study and development, take responsibility for the impact of their activity and its results on social and cultural development. While doing speciality tasks, students create artistic glass plastics, glass objects for interior, classical and modern stained glass. Most students already during studies successfully blend into creative life: participate in exhibitions, contests, art projects, execute individual orders. Graduates of Glass study programme, as connoisseurs of professional specificity, are significant glass objects' creators in Lithuanian art context. They are also in demand as creators - designers of individual artistic orders. Certificated glass artists are in demand in university and non-university higher education institutions as teachers, and in art schools and gymnasiums as teachers knowing various artistic technologies. A part of successful graduates become self-employed - engage in individual artistic activities.Tuition Fees

School General Description
Vilnius Academy of Arts is the largest and oldest art university in the Baltic States, established in 1793 as an Architecture department at the Chief school of the Grand Duchy of Lithuania in Vilnius. At the end of the 19th century it was closed together with Vilnius University by the tsarist government, and then reopened in 1919. After the World War II Academy was merged with Kaunas Art Institute and since then was called The State Art Institute of the Soviet Socialist Republic of Lithuania. In 1990 the Academy regained its name of Vilnius Academy of Arts. Since 1990, almost 100 alumni of the Academy were awarded National Art Awards. Today Academy has over 1,800 students in four cities – Vilnius, Kaunas and Telšiai. Each faculty has its own unique study programmes, which offer Lithuanian students a possibility to find a specific art specialisation in different cities. Vilnius faculty has a wide collection of most popular art study programmes varying from Painting to Culture Management and Culture Politics.
